The 2 August eclipse is the headline event. Its path of totality crosses southern Spain, North Africa and Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia. In India it appears as a partial eclipse; most panchangs prescribe Sutak only where an eclipse is actually visible. Penumbral lunar eclipses only dim the Moon slightly and are generally not observed with Sutak. Never look at the Sun without certified solar-viewing glasses.
Saturn checkSade Sati and Shani Dhaiya in 2027
Sade Sati is the roughly seven-and-a-half-year period when Saturn transits the 12th, 1st and 2nd houses from your Moon sign. Shani Dhaiya (about two and a half years) covers Saturn in the 4th house (Kantaka or Ardhashtama Shani) or the 8th house (Ashtama Shani). Because Saturn changes sign twice in 2027, the list changes twice.
Good news for Aquarius: Sade Sati began for Kumbha rashi when Saturn entered Capricorn in January 2020. It pauses from 3 June to 19 October 2027 and ends for good when Saturn re-enters Aries in late February 2028.

Read your Moon sign (Rashi) first. In Vedic astrology, transits (gochar) are traditionally judged from the sign the Moon occupied at your birth, and Sade Sati is counted the same way. If you know your Ascendant (Lagna), read that sign as well: the Moon-sign reading describes how the year feels, while the Lagna reading describes events.
Only know your Western Sun sign? Your Vedic sign is often different. The sidereal zodiac sits about 24° behind the tropical one, so if your Sun is in the first 24 degrees or so of a Western sign (roughly the first three weeks of that sign's dates), your Vedic Sun sign is the previous one. For example, someone born on 1 April is an Aries in Western astrology but a Pisces Sun in Vedic astrology. Your Moon sign needs a birth time and place to calculate.
Why Western horoscopes disagree on timing: in the tropical zodiac, Saturn has been in Aries since February 2026 and Jupiter enters Virgo on 26 July 2027. In the Lahiri sidereal zodiac used here, those moves happen on 3 June 2027 and 26 November 2027.

The big picture for Aries in 2027
2027 is the year Aries stops sprinting and starts building load-bearing walls. You are already two years into Sade Sati, and on 3 June Saturn crosses into your own sign, where it is debilitated. Saturn in a fire sign feels impatient and blunt; it wants structure from people who would rather act first. For roughly four and a half months (3 June to 20 October) your body, schedule and self-image carry Saturn's full weight, then the planet slips back into Pisces until late February 2028 and you get a short breather before the main stretch of the peak phase.
Here's the twist: Jupiter is on your side for most of the year. It spends the first half exalted in Cancer, your 4th house, throwing its 7th-house aspect onto your 10th house of career. Taurus opens 2027 with Saturn in your 11th house of gains, the single best place for Saturn in a transit chart. Networks, older contacts and long-running projects pay out. The big picture for Cancer in 2027
No sign gets more cosmic attention in 2027 than Cancer. From 25 January to 26 June, Jupiter is exalted in your own sign, its strongest possible placement, sitting on your Moon. How we calculatedMethodology: Lahiri ayanamsa and how other systems compare
Planetary longitudes were computed from the VSOP87 planetary theory and converted to the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, about 24°14′ in 2027. Lahiri is the standard recommended by India's Calendar Reform Committee in 1955 and used by most Indian panchangs. Rahu and Ketu are the mean lunar nodes. Every ingress and station date was cross-checked against published Lahiri panchang tables, and they agreed to within about two hours.
